“Born and raised in Cobourg, Ontario, I started my journey going to college to become a Child and Youth Worker. Unknown to me, Spirit had other plans. “This Vancouver Island Mediums’ roots are strongly tied to family, friend’s, her love of nature and family traditions.  Born in Duncan and raised in Victoria, this is where the magic began in her real-life fairy tale.  She took for granted from childhood that every household and family life felt like heaven on earth.  She felt everything from the time she was born able to see things that others didn’t.  Her childhood fostered love, respect, kindness, generosity and charity for all mankind lead by her gifted parent’s Archie and Kathy both athletes demonstrating daily acts of kindness for the greater good of other’s.

Whether it was school studies, choir, fundraising, sports, fishing “Archie taught her brother’s to sing to the fish”, or “stand and sing the National Anthem holding their hand over their heart’s while watching Hockey Night in Canada” or Kathy baking for other’s and driving the children to practices and games, life was an adventure.  Love was the household language and the energy of it along with faith threading both sides of the family together.  Cheryl didn’t realize that her Aunt Marg’s tea leaf readings and animal communication and her Aunty Bea’s courage and strength to live with the physical scars of cancer would become the fore front in her own future.  At 14, she was diagnosed with a rare disease called “scleroderma” which turns the body to stone and spent time in Seattle Children’s Hospital as well as specialists at the Pittsburgh and Toronto hospitals with hope for answers only to find her journey of healing would take her much further than the quest for a cure.

She drew healing from Natural medicine coupled with her team of doctor’s.  Physicians have said that her spiritual beliefs, gifts and desire to try alternative medicine have been a large part of her continued recovery and she has taught them to see life as a journey of possibilities.  Seeing the children in Seattle gave her in her own words “gratitude for the life she had already been given”.  At 41, she could no longer walk and her speech was fading.  A urologist discovered a birth defect in her kidney which resulted in a lifesaving surgery.  It was through studies of healing, natural medicine and spiritual development, dedication to helping others that carried her in her own life.  Her kind parents raised their children to love and lift people’s spirits and respect that each and every person was a miracle born with their own gifts in this world.

“From the time I was a little girl, and I would see this great big man dressed in armour walking around our house, I’ve been fascinated (I’m not going to lie, I was probably a little frightened too)…and apparently connected…(which I didn’t understand at the time)! I never knew why I would feel that something wasn’t right, or why it was just “going to be ok”, or if what I was feeling or thinking was real, why things would just fly out of my mouth and make me go “say what, huh?…where did that come from?”…until I started to dig…forever digging I suspect, but forever grateful. I know that I am a healer, whether through sharing words, thoughts, feelings, and just knowing, or through touch. It took many years of being lost and a bit ‘chaotic’, if you will (in fact, still chaotic), to start understanding my purpose, but dang, I feel like I can finally say “yep, I’ve got this…phew!” Incidentally, the man that I would see? “As a child I suffered from major panic anxiety and nightmares. Little did I know that I was seeing, hearing and feeling spirits all around me. I have suffered from all kinds of abusive from childhood to adulthood. I have had a hard life and nothing has come easily for me but I am grateful for every lesson as this is my life journey and I have chosen it. I had my daughter, Shae at the young age of 19 and became a single mom after a very abusive relationship with her birth father. I did the best I could with raising her with the knowledge I had and never doubted my love for my baby girl. I worked at our family bakery while Shae was in daycare. I met and then married my hubby, John when I was 21 years old and have been with him ever since. We have had our struggles as well but that’s what makes us who we are today and we have never been stronger. When our daughter was 4 years old we lost our twin babies prematurely. Our son, Brendon was stillborn and our daughter, Breanna lived for 2 days. This was an extremely hard time for us. We later had our son, Tanner and he has been the light of our lives, our miracle baby. My parents divorced and our family fell apart. I don’t have contact with any of my siblings or my mom. It was a very toxic situation that I have no room for in my life. I struggled with anxiety all my life. I made myself sick in school especially during projects where I would need to go up in front of the class. I didn’t do well in school so dropped out in grade 11 and followed my childhood dream of becoming a hairstylist a few years later. Socially I always struggled especially at group functions or parties and even with one on one conversations. I always felt the need to have a couple drinks to help me socialize. People thought I was rude I feel as I avoided people or situations because it caused me so much stress and anxiety and I always felt I was being judged. I’ve always struggled with self love, being liked and accepted by others and felt the need to try to please everyone else all of the time. In 2015 I was diagnosed with bilateral breast cancer. I was treated aggressively with surgery, chemotherapy and radiation. I am a cancer survivor and mentor cancer patients now to help them through it. My life has done a 360 since finding my earth angel, Carmel Joy Baird. Her book, The Truth of Spirits resonated with me so much as I see myself like her in so many ways, the life struggles and lessons etc.I have been able to communicate with my twins for years but she has taught me to develop my intuition even more so now that there’s no comparison in how I can connect to them, my guides, loved ones and other peoples guides and loved ones that have crossed over as well. I am not crazy, I’m a medium. When I write my book this is the title for it. I have taken over 25 of her online courses and a few in person with Carmel as well which was life-changing, even with Sonia Choquette and Carmel! I want to continue sharing this gift I have decided to develop to help heal not only myself but others as well. My guides know to send me people that will resonate with me and that need healing messages from me. There are pros and cons with being a medium. I struggle with being in public places more than ever before because I am so sensitive to energy and spirits it follows me wherever I go so whenever I can I avoid grocery shopping etc. I do. Online shopping has become my best friend. I get physically sick very easily. My life has changed tremendously in a very short span.
